Plie' & Play - 2 -3 years

Plie' & play is an adult assisted class for our littlest aspiring dancers. It is a one hour class that is half creative movement and sing along songs, and half play based activities.  We dance, we color, we have snack breaks. Any caregiver is welcome to accompany the student. Adults will be dancing along with us as well

Combo Classes (Ballet/Tap)

These classes offer an introduction into the specific dance styles paired with some creative movement exercises for our preschool and early elementary age group. Engaging music is used to get these little ones inspired to dance, all while introducing basic dance technique. They will learn how to follow direction and imitate movement, while developing gross motor skills in a positive and fun environment. The contrasting styles in these classes helps to keep their focus through the entire hour.

Ballet

Ballet is a classical dance form that demands grace and precision through formalized steps and gestures. Originating in Italy, and codified by the French, it provides the foundational technique needed to be proficient in many other areas of dance. Ballet classes will help dancers with posture, flexibility, fitness, balance, self-discipline, and self-confidence. It is strongly recommended that all dancers enroll in a ballet class.  Ballet classes will consist of Barre work, center floor work and across the floor combinations.

For Adult Ballet I classes, it is recommended that you have some prior ballet experience or have completed our Ballet Basics 6 week course. For Adult Ballet III, it is recommended that you have at least 5 years regular experience.

Acrobatics

Acrobatics is the performance of extraordinary feats of balance, agility, and motor coordination. In this class, you can expect to learn skills similar to the floor portion of gymnastics - front and back rolls, cartwheels, hand stands, back bends, and as students progress- flips! Your teacher will guide you through  exercises to learn and execute acrobatic skills and build strength and balance.

Jazz

Jazz is a form of social dance that combines both African & European dance styles. The African dances that built the foundation of Jazz were explosive, grounded, and rhythmic.  While Jazz was at one time associated with jazz music, it continues to evolve with the popular music and various stylistic influences. Students will learn jazz technique and apply it to choreography- helping to build rhythm, coordination and agility.

For Adult Jazz I/II, it is recommended that you have some prior dance experience, or have completed our Ballet/Jazz Dance Technique Basics 6 week course.

Hip Hop

Hip hop is a high energy freestyle dance form that has evolved from street dancing into one of the most popular dance forms today. It has deep historical and social roots in African American culture, having emerged in Black communities in the1970s in New York and California. While frequently referred to as a singular dance style, Hip Hop dance is part of a whole culture of Hip Hop.  This class focuses on some of the fundamental techniques and foundations of the hip hop style and develops dancers musicality, coordination, confidence, performance skill, and their ability to pick up choreography.

No prior dance experience needed

Tap

Tap dance is a form of dance characterized by using the sounds of tap shoes striking the floor as a form of percussion. In Tap, YOU are the instrument! Tap dance originated in the United States in the early 19th century at the crossroads of African and Irish American dance forms. In class, you will develop rhythmic coordination skills through various barre, center and cross-floor exercises and routines.   You will need tap shoes for any classes involving tap
